Our Purpose
To be a self-sufficient, independent, and sovereign people — building a sustainable community that recognizes our shared humanity.
We Want Green Too is a Veteran-founded, community-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit on Detroit's East Side. We help Veterans return to a healthy, stable life through energy-efficient housing, green-job training, and a community committed to leaving no Veteran behind.

Funding secured, homes improved, and residents trained — here is where the work stands today.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Our work is powered by community members, local leaders, and the Veterans we bring directly into our workforce — pairing experienced contractors with people ready for a second chance and a shared purpose.
Together they build green, energy-efficient homes that serve both people and the planet — proving that rebuilding a house can help rebuild a life.
